Practice and Make-Up Game Ice Booking Policy

Practice ice is limited to one (1) hour per booking. This ensures that more members have the opportunity to access available practice ice.

Special Arrangements (NEW 2026-01-27)

Competitive teams playing under the Granite banner may work with the Ice Allocation Director to request practice ice outside the two (2) week booking window in advance of an upcoming bonspiel.
- These requests are intended to support event-specific preparation only and do not constitute a standing or recurring weekly booking.
- Practice ice will be booked only in advance of scheduled spiels, subject to availability.
- Approval and scheduling of such ice remains at the discretion of the Ice Allocation Director and the Board of Directors.

Make-Up Games

To schedule a make-up game, teams must book two consecutive available time slots (shown in green).
Bookings must not cross a standard ice maintenance period (for example, do not book both the 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. slots on a weekday).
On Sunday mornings, there is no ice maintenance, so any two consecutive slots may be booked.

New Cancelled Game Option – Sunday 9:00 a.m. Request (effective 2026-02-01)

When a team cancels a scheduled game, they may request that the Ice Allocation Director attempt to book a Sunday 9:00 a.m. sheet for a make-up game.
This request may only be made outside the two (2) week booking window and is subject to availability.
The Ice Allocation Director will contact the requester with available dates.
Ice within the two-week booking window is open to the membership and cannot be prebooked by Ice Allocation.

Additional Notes

When booking ice for a make-up game, an accompanying “Release Game Ice” request must be submitted. If the release cannot be verified, one of the booked slots may be cancelled.
If a member books back-to-back practice slots, one of the bookings may be cancelled to allow fair access for other members.

Members may bring in coaches for practice sessions.
Competitive teams playing under the Granite banner may include a team member for practice, who is not a current Granite member, in accordance with governing regulations.
Non-members are not permitted use of practice ice.
Members cannot bring non-members to “share” their practice ice time.
Bookings made by members for non-members are not allowed.
