Refund Policy
Effective date: April 1, 2026
Timeframes
From time to time there may occur reasons for which a member will require a refund for all or part of the fees paid upon registration. A refund will be granted within the following time frames.
1. A full refund can be requested up to November 1st. After that time, a refund will not be granted unless for medical reasons.
2. A request for a refund due to medical reasons will be considered until January 15th.
No refunds will be granted outside of these time frames unless approved by the Executive Committee and/or the Board of Directors.
Medical Reasons
A full refund for medical reasons will be granted, if requested before the deadline, for members who have not set foot on the ice due to injury or other health issues.
A prorated refund for medical reasons will be granted, if requested before the deadline, for the following reasons:
1. A member who has played but becomes injured or develops other health issues that result in their inability to continue playing.
2. A member began the season, but determined they were unable to continue playing due to pre-existing or developing health issues.
Refundable Amounts
The Base Amount plus the fee for each league in which the member has registered will be prorated for refund based on the date of the start of the season and the date the refund is granted.
If applicable, the total locker fee will be refunded and the locker will be reassigned. Refer to the Locker Rental Policy for further details. In order to retain standing in the club and the ability to retain priority registration status for the next season, the member must revert to a Social Membership for the refunded season.
The Capital Reserve Fee will not be refunded and an administration fee of $25 will be charged for processing a refund.
If the Initiation Fee was paid as part of the registration, and it is the first time the person is registering, the Initiation Fee will be refunded. If it is not the first time, then the
initiation fee will not be refunded.
Rookies and Youth memberships will be prorated if they have participated in the program in any way prior to requesting a refund.
Note the curling season is 27 weeks starting the last week of September and ending the second week of April.
Some leagues do not play the full season but are broken into three separate sessions. A refund for these leagues will be calculated using the number of weeks per session if the league has begun. If the league has not begun, a full refund for that session will be given.
Example #1
If a member with a locker, curling in 2 leagues, determines as of the 2nd week of December that they are no longer able to curl due to medical concerns but wishes to
retain their priority for registration, their refund will be calculated as shown below.
Refund = Total Registration Paid - Admin Fee - Capital Reserve Fee - ((Base Fee + League Fee) / 27 weeks in a season x number of weeks played) + Locker Fee if
applicable - Social Membership if applicable
Refund = $845 - $25 - $50 - (($455 + $300) / 27 x 11) + $40 - $75
Refund = $427.41
